Chicken chatpata is made with coriander...Try this for a different flavour than the usual...
Ingredients:
Chicken pieces:500 gms
Dessicated coconut:4 tbsp
Coriander powder:3 tbsp
Turmeric powder:1 tsp
Green chilli:5
Ginger:1 inch
Garlic:2 cloves
Few curry leaves
Coriander leaves;3 to 5 sprigs
Cooking oil:1 tsp
Salt to taste
Preparation:
In a cooking pot,pour water so that the chicken pieces are immersed…
Add turmeric powder,salt and 1 cut green chilli to the cooking pot with the chicken pieces and mix well..
Close the cooking pot and set on high flame and cook till the chicken becomes half boiled…
In a non-stick,on a medium flame,half-roast the dessicated coconut till brown,smultaneously adding the coriander powder and curry leaves…
Remove the pan from fire when the coconut turns in to coarse brown powder…
In a mixer grind the roasted coconut with the chopped corinader leaves and half glass of water…
Again grind the ginger,garlic and 2 green chillies in to a paste…
In a non-stick pan heat the oil and saute the paste..
To the above saute add the half boiled chicken pieces and also the entire contents from the cooking pot…
Then add the finely ground coconut mixture,remaining green chillies(sliced),salt and cook till the chicken pieces become tender…
